The Vinho Verde Wine Fest is a wine festival featuring exhibitions, wine tastings, gastronomy, wine tourism, guided tastings, show cooking, DJs, music, and many entertainment options. The entire event is organized by the Vinho Verde Wine Region Viticulture Commission.
Around thirty Vinho Verde producers were present with over 150 wines for tasting – white, rosé, red, sparkling, and brandy – showcasing the diversity and versatility of wines produced in the Vinho Verde Demarcated Region, one of the largest and oldest demarcated regions in Portugal.
Daily guided tastings led by oenologists and wine experts will take place, with free access but subject to the capacity of the tasting room. For wine enthusiasts or those curious about Vinho Verde wines, "Tasting of the 5 Senses," "Sparkling Wines to Taste," and "Young and Aged Alvarinhos" are just a few examples of guided tastings that, along with pairing tastings such as "Brands & Chocolate" and "Vinho Verde & Cheeses," allow consumers to become more informed.
Because wine is almost always associated with food, the Vinho Verde Wine Fest brings together 15 renowned chefs with more than 20 interactive showcooking sessions to teach recipes and which wines to pair them with.
