WHO WE ARE
ofgroup is a business group founded in 2010, born from the courage, determination and vision of its founder, José Carlos Ferreira da Cunha, who brings almost 40 years of experience in the business and commercial organisation of fairs and events.
Beyond this, he has helped shape a new narrative and a new communication paradigm in the industry, driving forward some of the sector's most notable events. Over the years, this has translated into dozens of productions across areas such as gastronomy, wine and brand launches. Furthermore, the group has organised congresses, seminars and workshops, as well as themed exhibitions and trade fairs — ranging from event management and brand activation campaigns to stand design for fairs and exhibitions.
These projects have been developed in close partnership with private companies from a wide range of sectors, as well as with numerous public entities, including municipal councils, regional tourism boards, inter-municipal commissions, regional development commissions and sector associations.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Creativity and innovation stand among the core pillars of the group's activity, driving the creation of standout events that translate into truly unique experiences. It was against this backdrop that, in 2011, the Wine Fest concept was born — the company's flagship brand image. Building on this concept, the group went on to produce the Porto Wine Fest, the Douro Wine Fest and the Vinho Verde Wine Fest.
In addition, several editions of the "Alentejo das Gastronomias Mediterrânicas" gastronomic festival were designed and delivered between 2011 and 2013. This event would later go on to be recognised as part of the "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity", during the 8th session of the organisation's intergovernmental committee in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
Alongside this, the group also rethought and developed the Santarém National Gastronomy Festival, as well as Maia's horticultural and environmental festival, Hortíssima. Worth noting too, among many other events, is the Alvarinho Fair in Monção.

ACTIVITIES
ofgroup also operates in the field of designing and buildingstandsfor national and international trade fairs. What's more, since 2011, the group has been designing and producing stands for trade fairs and professional exhibitions, both in Portugal and abroad. Among the highlights are projects delivered for the Alentejo Regional Tourism Authority at the Lisbon Tourism Exchange; the Porto and Northern Portugal Tourism Authority at FITUR – Madrid; as well as Flavours of Portugal, in Warsaw, and ANUGA, in Cologne, among many others. It's also worth noting that a large part of these projects is conceived and produced in-house, at our manufacturing facility in Paredes, where we develop wooden stands and modular stands tailored to each event.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
At its production unit, the group designs, engineers and manufactures all the furniture used in the events it delivers. What's more, the quality of the materials produced has led the company to branch out into furniture for other purposes, with highlights including: furniture designed by award-winning architect Eduardo Souto Moura for a prestigious art gallery in Porto and for the F.C. Porto Museum; exhibition furniture for El Corte Inglês, Nike, Panasonic and the Calzedonia Group.
Alongside this, the group also produces residential furniture, with a particular focus on kitchen and wardrobe solutions.
HISTORY
In 2015, the group led the revival of the MAQUITEX trade fair, staging, in partnership with EXPONOR, its 16th (2019), 17th (2021) and 18th (2023) editions, following a 12-year hiatus. As a result, the initiative's success firmly relaunched the largest exhibition of textile and clothing industry machinery in the Iberian Peninsula. And in March 2025, the 19th edition of MAQUITEX was held, achieving remarkable success.
ofgroup's human resources span a wide range of professional fields, namely: architecture, engineering, fair marketing, digital marketing, communication, technical drawing, 3D and multimedia.
Today, ofgroup comprises the following companies: OFFE, Vertigem Contemporânea and Sentidestável.
The company is headquartered in Baguim do Monte, in the municipality of Gondomar, where it concentrates its offices, R&D departments and storage areas; ofgroup also operates a manufacturing facility in Paredes, specialising in carpentry/joinery and metalworking.
